Press room of 5TH CARICOM-Cuba Summit opens (+ VIDEO)

Havana, December 5, 2014  – The Press Room of the Fifth CARICOM-Cuba Summit has been officially opened on December 5 by the Director General of Press, Communication and Image of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba (MINREX), Alejandro González Galiano.

“We hope this is the place where they [press professionals] can successfully do their important job,” González said.

The room is equipped with Wi-Fi and internet connection services, screens for live broadcasting, streaming, 20 computers, 30 connections for laptops, telephone and photocopy services, among others that will be at the service of the national and accredited international media outlets covering the Summit.

Also, and to broadcast the official signal of the Summit, the Center for International Broadcasting (IBC) has been enabled to provide video and audio signal of the Summit.

The brand new room will continue working once this Summit is over to provide services to the press covering the upcoming Summit for the 10th Anniversary of the ALBA-TCP to be held in Havana in December 14.

Until this moment, 68 foreign reporters from 28 media outlets have accredited temporarily or permanently. It is expected that 16 more delegations will arrive with the heads of delegations.

 During the opening ceremony, it was announced that the web site of the event will cover the main activities taking place in the coming days. (Cubaminrex)
