Prime Minister of Bahamas Arrives in Cuba.

Cuba, December 7, 2014.-The Right Honourable Perry Gladstone Christie, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Bahamas, has arrived in the afternoon of Sunday to Havana to attend the Fifth CARICOM-Cuba Summit.
The Bahamian head of government was received by Maria Esther Reus González, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cuba, at the Jose Marti International Airport.
"We hope the ties with Cuba tighten in the years to come as close neighbors,” he said at his arrival to Cuba.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other officials of his country.
The co-operation between both countries has made possible that thousands of Bahamian citizens have access to advanced health care programs. Tenths of Cuban teaching staff have provided their services in Bahamas, many of them in special education, and hundreds of Bahamian students have benefited with free scholarships granted by the Cuban authorities.
